Lucknow, 31 August 2020.
The state has no respite from continuous incidents of murder. The entire state has been rattled by the triple murder in Agra district, rape of a minor and murder in police custody. The UP Congress Committee demands the Chief Minister of the state take concrete steps to control the deteriorating law and order and the frequent killings and crimes.
In a statement issued today, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Mr Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the rule of law has been completely destroyed in Yogi Raj in the state. Minor girls are being raped, gang raped and murdered. The head of the state is misleading the people by using fake and false facts collected by the Team-11. That is why even death in the police custody has become so common.
Mr Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the incidents of Agra, Chandauli, Bulandshahr and Rae Bareli are a stigma for our civil society and democracy. The Chief Minister is basking in the glory of power. The culprits of heinous crimes are in their comfort zone in the Jungle Raj. The morale of the police is on decline and criminals are emboldened.
Mr Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the people have not yet recovered from the trauma of recent acts of heinous crimes in districts of Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Jalaun, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Azamgarh, Ballia, Auraiya, and others, when the crimes of Agra, Chandauli, Bulandshahr and Rae Bareli further rattled the state. The Jungle Raj in Yogi Raj is at its height. He said that the Chief Minister should take strict steps to check crime by giving up self-obsession and take quick action on the incidents to get the culprits punished quickly and severely.
